GoldMine Tech Tip

Troubleshoot User-Specific Issues

Here’s how to troubleshoot three different user-specific issues:

GoldMine username.ini
This file resides at the root of the GoldMine directory.

  • Rename the username.ini.
  • Log back into GoldMine. This will recreate the ini.
  • For testing purposes, configure e-mail settings. If this fixes the issue permanently, all other user preferences will have to be re-entered.
  • Test behavior.

GoldMine user account

  • Within GoldMine, delete the user account.
  • Create a new user account with the same user name.
  • Test behavior - This could clear corruption but if not, try the following:
    • Delete the user’s account.
    • Create a dummy account. Use the row where the user’s old account resided.
    • Create a new user account. You can use the same account name, but if this does not fix the issue, try with a totally new account name. A Territory re-alignment will move old username data to new username.
    • Test behavior

User’s Windows profile
Local or network profiles could be corrupted.

  • Log in to the user’s local machine with another network account.
  • Launch GoldMine as the user with the issue.
  • Test behavior.

Case Study: Long Term Care Partners Raises the Bar with GoldMine® Supporting Sales and Customer Service

In 2000, the U.S. government created the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program to cover the approximately 20 million eligible Americans who are current or former federal employees. Long Term Care Partners (LTCP), formed to serve these federal employees, must keep up with millions of contact records in the course of managing prospective and current customers.

The company teamed up with SagaSolutions.com, a FrontRange Solutions partner, to implement GoldMine Corporate Edition to help streamline its sales and account management processes. With a powerful database in place, LTCP shortened the quoting process, created new efficiency for consultants, provides more personalized service to customers, and has a system to ensure that all consultants and account managers follow up with prospects in a timely manner.
